Who doesn’t love a happy ending? Society, in general, is made to believe that life is supposed to be easy and that every end is supposed to be just as glorious as the beginning. Sadly, this is not always the case.

Relationships too suffer the strain of disagreements once in a while. Some may survive these troubling periods and develop stronger bonds because of their trials. On the other hand, some may, unfortunately, decide that saving the relationship is no longer an option; hence both parties break up and move on with their separate lives.

For those wondering or are at a crossroads, a fight may seem like such a heavy burden to carry. As tempting as it may seem to simply just break off the relationship than try to save it, couples nowadays are finding reasons to stick with it and learn from the experience. It is thus important to know some common causes of why couples break up so as to determine whether saving the relationship is indeed worthwhile.

Issues of trust are one of the most common reasons why couples break up in the first place. A loving and nurturing relationship requires constant attention and a lot of trust in both parties. One eventually finds oneself wondering whether a partner is indeed faithful or not. So rather than living with the constant worrying and the doubts, they decide that the partnership is not as secure and nurturing as it was before. A bond of integrity, once broken, is a hard item to fix, hence couples then prefer to break off the relationship than try to fix it.

There is a saying that opposites attract, but what they do not mention is up to what extent. One may find a partner’s quirks cute in the beginning but may become increasingly annoying as the years pass. One has to remember though, that there is no perfect person. Even you have annoying habits that your partner may find frustrating at times. What is important is that one can live with each other’s quirks in the long run. If these attitudes are just too unacceptable, then analyzing the relationship is now in order.

Boredom and loss of love are also possible reasons for breaking up. Early on in the relationship, one may experience intense feelings of affection for one’s partner. As the years go by, however, the romance fizzles and may die a natural death. Either one or the other looses interest or simply fall into a felling of extreme comfort with each other. Saving one’s relationship, thus, becomes tiresome and is left to end.

Whatever the reason or the cause, couples should always remember that saving the relationship should always be utmost priority and that breaking up is the final and last option. Every one will be faced with some sort of trial at one point of their lives. It is thus important that one weighs the options first and thoroughly analyze the relationship before making any hasty decisions.
